The Institute for Clean and Secure Energy hosts the annual University of Utah Unconventional Fuels Conference. The purpose of this conference is to provide policy makers, academic researchers, regulators, industry, and the concerned public with a forum that fosters collaboration and understanding of the myriad issues surrounding potential development of unconventional fuels, namely oil shale and oil sands. The conference considers technical, environmental, and policy issues relevant to the development of these resources in the western U.S. It builds on the legacy of the Western U.S. Oil Sands Conference that the Institute hosted in 2006, 2008, and 2009. Conference presentations and attendees lists are available for download from the ICSE archived events page.
